Can we imagine a new medicine? A medicine that does not separate the body from the mind, the individual from their context, science from ancestral wisdom?
In this seminar we will explore the transformative power of teacher plants and of psychedelic substances in therapeutic settings, rediscovering how these tools, ancient and now being reevaluated by science, may open new perspectives in healing.
Dr. Michèle Anne Barocchi, co-founder and president of MAPS Italia (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), will share her personal healing journey through work with plants, describing how these experiences radically transformed her view of medicine and mental health.
Through the story of her experience and an overview of the work of MAPS, we will step into the heart of contemporary scientific research on the therapeutic use of MDMA for the treatment of deep trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We will look at the results of the most recent clinical studies, the FDA's recognition of MDMA as a “breakthrough therapy”, and the increasingly central role these tools are taking on in the global health landscape.
But this seminar goes beyond science. It is an invitation to reflect together on an integrated vision of health, where individual well-being is intertwined with collective well-being, with relationships, with nature, with spirituality and with deep feeling. Where healing also becomes a political, ecological and cultural act.
